The Old Greens Barn Wedding – Chloe + Byron
I can’t thank Chloe and Byron enough for choosing me to document their Old Greens Barn wedding. From the first minute Chloe and I Facetimed 12 months previous, I knew her wedding day with Byron would be a relaxed and chilled day. What we didn’t know 12 months ago would be that Chloe would have just had another baby to join her beautiful daughter Nancy! Chloe, I am still in awe of how just days after your sons arrival, you absolutely rocked your wedding day.
The sun shone brightly from the start of the day with bridal prep at Box Hill Hotel in Dorking. Nancy stole the show just by being her, her eyes, that look, her curls, just gorgeous.
The ceremony took place in the Surrey village of Newdigate at the local church, St Peters. Byron and his groomsmen were enjoying the sunshine and looked great in their blue suits and the red ties really added a pop to the suits.
A family friend had provided his restored Hillman Imp to take Chloe from the hotel to the church. This car was cute and so fast, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bride rally car to her own wedding before!
One of my favourite moments from the day was Nancy walking up the aisle in front of her mum. Nancy looked so bashful, Byron was waiting with arms open to hold her, I just love the emotion of father and daughter.
There were lot’s of little cheeky smiles during the ceremony before the wedding ceremony, I’m so lucky that from where I stand, I get to witness these, it really is the best view in the house.
With their vows made we headed outside for a confetti shot, is there anything more “wedding” than a confetti shot, no, I don’t think so! I love the smiles, the love, the laughter – real emotions which you just can’t fake.
The wedding reception took place at Old Greens Barn, which has retained all it’s rustic charm and a blank canvas allowing you to dress to suit your wedding colours. Chloe chose whites and greens to accent her day. The table place settings were leaves and the wedding favours were small packets of sunflower seeds.
The white and green theme continued through to the wedding cake which was displayed on a chopped log, complimenting both the natural wedding flowers and the rustic feel of the barn.
With the sun high in the sky and the little Hillman Imp having to leave us, we took 5 minutes for a few relaxed couples pictures. The wind caught Chloe’s dress just at the right time creating perfect movement for the picture.
I like to take family group as I think it’s important to have a record of your loved ones. I try to keep the pictures as relaxed as possible and a few fun ones with the bridal party.
Speeches took place before the wedding breakfast. This is a great idea if you’re feeling slightly anxious about your speeches as you can then enjoy your wedding breakfast as the speeches are finished. There were a lot of emotional moments throughout the day, so much love.
The guests enjoyed the evening sun and made the most of the mini golf course which Chloe and Byron arranged at the barn. There was also entertainment provided by one of their guests who was an incredible magician.
We then took 5 minutes to enjoy the golden hour light for pictures with Chloe wearing her hand painted personalised leather jacket – I love these and they are such a wonderful momento to have from your wedding day.
The evening finished with first dance love and dancefloor fun. Mr + Mrs Dewsbury had a perfect Old Greens Barn Wedding day. Wishing you both much love and happiness for the future ♥
