Wedding photography at Wotton House is a dream. It is a stunning location in Dorking, nestled in the beautiful Surrey countryside. With it’s long sweeping drive leading to the main building, and it’s roman style temple, pond, grotto, stream and simply elegant private walled garden (perfect for Summer weddings), you and your guests can’t help but be impressed. This is where Michele and Jeff choose to take their wedding vows (you may remember them from their pre shoot which I photographed at Painshill Park.
As expected, Michele was relaxed and calm on her wedding morning, despite there being bridesmaids, mum, hair dresser and make up artist all getting ready in one room! Jeff was definitely the one ensuring all the fine details were in place, I found him in full flow in the library, greeting guests, straightening ties and lots of pacing 🙂
Michele’s mother walked her down the aisle, with Jeff never taking his gaze from his beautiful bride, he looked so proud! the ceremony was simple with two readings and couple of emotional moments from Michele during the exchange of rings. I do enjoy a few tears.
Post ceremony we moved into the elegant gardens where guests drank champagne in the afternoon sun (after a very rainy start to the day, the sun was a welcome relief). With so many areas for photography it can be so difficult not to get too carried away! We wondered to the Roamn style temples before heading to the Grotto. As far as I am aware, this is pretty unique to Wotton House, and with a little bit of extra lighting, it creates a stunning image.
Speeches were very funny, the best man and the brides brother-in-law had everyone in stitches, and I think it’s safe to say that South Africans definitely know how to have a good time!
Thank you to Michele and Jeff for choosing me to be part of their big day!
