Cambridge University Wedding
My last wedding of 2016 – Cambridge University Wedding, what a place to finish the year!
Sophie and Martin choose the chapel at St Johns College in Cambridge University for their big day as Sophie’s Grandfather is a professor here. What a lovely gentleman he is too, he gave me a very detailed guided tour, simply amazing! Many of Sophie’s childhood days were spent wondering around this magnificent place and she had always known this would be the place she would marry the love of her life, enter our handsome groom, Martin!
Sophie and Martin met at their University squash club and not sounding too cheesy, but obviously found their perfect game, set and match (Is that how squash works??:)
The morning of their wedding was cold, as you would expect for December, but also incredibly foggy. I had arrived early so took the opportunity to walk around the city and take some street photographs of this beautiful city, it’s also a lovely way to set the scene within a wedding album.
With bride and groom preparations taking place within the University grounds, it was easy to flit between the two excited and ever so slightly nervous couple, watching the change in emotions from excited to sheer nervousness. The chapel is stunning inside with a beautiful view of the Sophie and Martin taking their vows from the balcony reserved for the choir.
With ceremony over the couple were greeted with an arch way of bubbles, which looked fun yet chic. We huddled together outside for family pictures pretending we were in the Bahamas and not 2 degree Winter chill!
The dining room is the main dining area in the University but beautifully decorated with simple white linen, candles and springs of Christmas flora and fauna spreading their aroma throughout the hall. Evening entertainment was provided courtesy of a live three piece band, who had everyone up and dancing! Beautiful way to finish a beautiful day ♥
