Surrey Marquee Wedding Photography

I love a marquee wedding, it’s a blank canvas just waiting to be personalised. Charlotte and Thom’s marquee wedding oozed simply chic style. Thom’s a landscape gardener, he incorporated so many beautiful ideas. I especially love the ladders hanging from the marquee with foliage draped from them, and the napkin rings of sprigs of rosemary.

Charlotte not one for fuss, kept her bridal prep pictures to a minimum, but she had sent Thom a wedding day gift and video message and was keen to see his reaction. Thom is lovely and wears his heart on his sleeve. He was so moved by the message and gift, it really was a delight to witness ♥

The marquee wedding was conducted by Charlottes sister (Charlotte and Thom were legally married at a registry office a few days before). The wedding vows were unique, heart felt and made you feel like you were really part of the day.

With the ceremony sealed with a kiss, Charlotte and Thom walked backed down the aisle to loud cheers and a shower of confetti (created by Thom – hole punched from book pages – that’s dedication!). With lots of hugs for the new Mr + Mrs Daniels, the champagne flowed and the gin bar, hand made by Thom from pallets and fence panels, was busy with their homemade G+T recipes.

The rest of the day was relaxed and informal. The speeches were funny with lots of stories shared. Thom is part Danish so it was great to see some of their wedding traditions! During the speeches if the guests stamp their feet, the bride and groom have to go under the table to kiss. If the guests clink their cutlery against their glasses, the bride and groom must stand in a chair and kiss – all very funny. Another Danish tradition happens just after the first dance, where the groom is picked up by the guests, his shoes removed and the end of his socks cut off, this is to see how well his wife can sew 😊

It was a huge pleasure to be part of Charlotte and Thom’s marquee wedding and wish them both lot’s of love and success for the future. x
