Wonderful Wedding at Stanlake Park Vineyard
So excited to share this Spring wedding at Stanlake Park Vineyard with Nicole and Adam.
Nicole contacted me in January to arrange photography for her wedding which was only 5 months away! If you’re in the throes of wedding planning, you’ll know that most couples’ are planning at least 12-18 months in advance, some even longer, so I was pretty impressed that Nicole was arranging everything from scratch, nothing like a challenge!
Stanlake Park
I love Stanlake Park Vineyard. It’s is a gorgeous converted barn set within a vineyard near Twyford in Berkshire. It has recently undergone a bit of a makeover. There is now a perfect area for bridal prep, lot’s of mirrors and lights for your hair and make up, with a pretty space to hang your dress and all your wedding details. The wedding breakfast barn has had a wall of floor to ceiling windows installed which floods the room with lot’s of natural light without taking away from the barn ambience.
Stanlake Park Bridal Prep
I arrived on the morning to in the midst of hair and makeup provided by Nicole’s best friend and bridesmaid, Tarah Golding. Tarah is usually found on TV and filmsets, her work is simply stunning. I always expect to see a glowing bride to be, but Nicole shared she was also 5 months pregnant with a little girl! The dress Nicole had had chosen was perfect and absolutely skimmed over Nicole’s delicate baby bump.
The ceremony room looked fabulous with delicate displays provided by the lovely ladies at Sonning Flowers. The wedding bouquet was incredible, I especially loved the addition of pampas grass. It looked boho chic and worked so well within the setting of Stanlake Park Vineyard.
Both of Nicole’s parents walked her up the aisle to her groom Adam who had the biggest smile. I love these moments so much, you can genuinely feel the love in the room.
There were three heartfelt readings, I especially loved the one read by Nicole’s mum.
ROOTS AND WINGS
If I could give you many things,
I’d give you gold and silver rings
Of knowledge that I’ve gained with years
The gift of smiling through the tears
Confidence, courage, determination,
Laughter and spirit and love of creation,
Wrapped up in a box with a bow, I’d give
To you these gifts to keep for as long as you live.
“If I could give you just two things,
One would be Roots, the other, Wings.”
Roots, not to tie you to the ground,
But to guide you to where your fulfillment is found
The nourishing start, the firm foundation,
The source of your inner determination.
Wings to soar over obstacles, wings to fly free,
Wings to glide to the heights of the best you can be.
And when obstacles loom, from your Roots grows a hand
Providing a strong, sturdy, safe place to land.
I’d choose these two things for the gifts that are best,
For with Roots and with Wings, you’ll find all the rest!
After the ceremony we had the longest confetti line, ever, followed by “smashing the glass” in a nod to Nicole’s Jewish religion. With many family members travelling far and wide, we had a lot of group photos. I especially loved Nicole’s grandma, who whilst in her 90’s was incredibly sharp and witty.
We were treated to not just three incredible speeches, but a song written and performed by Nicole’s two older brothers, who tongue in cheek described themselves as the Jewish Ant & Deck 🙂 A fabulous evening followed with live music performed by The Distractions Band. I truly loved being part of this Stanlake Park Vineyard wedding and look forward to working at this beautiful venue again soon.
